Hey, I'm Fabian. But you can call me Fabi.
My starting point
I didn’t start in design. I actually studied healthcare (Oefentherapie Cesar) because I loved helping people and I wasn’t sure how to turn creativity into a career. A few years in, I realised something simple: if I’m going to spend a third of my life working, I’d rather spend it making things and fueling curiosity. That decision pulled me into the creative field, and I’ve never looked back.
How I think and work
Curiosity is the through-line in everything I do. I’ve always wanted to understand how things work, and that instinct naturally shaped the kind of designer I became. I’m a tinkerer by nature. I’m someone who enjoys puzzles, clarity, and systems. But I use structure as a way to open up ideas. I’m organised without being rigid, relaxed without being vague. You might expect a stiff perfectionist, but I’m more someone who’s rational, collaborative, and genuinely interested in finding the smartest solution, not the loudest one.
Outside work
I like quiet mornings with a coffee, watching the light change outside the window, or heading out for long hikes where there’s nothing to do except let the mind wander.
In my spare time I dive into experiments, explore new tools, and follow whatever idea hooks me in the moment.
Those pockets of stillness and play are where most of my thinking happens; they’re the places where ideas loosen up, connect, and eventually turn into solutions.
